Mashed Potatoes Recipe
This recipe is insanely tasty and needs no introduction. This is my way to make creamy mashed potatoes simply and easily
Serves 20: Scale up as needed
Total Time ~1 hour Idle time ~30 minutes
8 large russet potatoes (peeled and cubed)
1 stick butter or 8 tbsp any butter substitute (melted)
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp ground black pepper
2 tsp garlic powder (or 5 cloves fresh garlic, minced)
1 tsp MSG
½ cup cream
Heat a large pot of water until boiling and add in your potato cubes. Let boil for at least 10 minutes and take out once cubes can be pierced by a fork and provide a small amount of resistance.
Add the cubes to a large bowl and add ½ of the butter. Mash with a potato masher or similar instrument until smooth and homogenous.
Add all the seasonings and the rest of the butter (as well as optional cream), and mix with a large spoon until thoroughly combined.
Place in a 200f 94c oven until you are ready to go.
